Studies show that dance helps reduce stress, increase levels of feel-good hormones, and helps develop new neural connections—especially in executive function, long-term memory, and spatial recognition.
Through dance movement, you are able to get in touch with, express, and explore emotions that may be lodged in the body. This sort of movement allows you to release the trauma imprinted in your mind, body and as a result the nervous system. Allowing for cathartic release, and adaptive processing of trauma.
Origin of Flamenco: Living under extreme suppression, persecution, and suffering, the Romani began to express themselves through song and dance. This is why traditional Flamenco is sad and heartbreaking.
Suggested/not required attire (wear what you are comfortable wearing, this is a body positive class): Femme attire—long skirt, flamenco shoes (or low thick heeled shoes). Masc attire—comfortable pants and shirt with thick heeled boots.
Instructor: Sabrina
$90/series or $20/class (no makeup classes or refunds)
February 7 - March 21 (no class Feb 14), 7-7:45pm

PARKING: We are a new space still in need of signage, thank you for your patience in finding us. The building is next door to Rosati's Pizza. If you park in the front (under the clock), enter the double doors and walk down the hallway to the back of the building. If you park around back, those double doors take you directly to the space.
